Welcome to RLT Nutrition!

Nutrition That Works For Your World

We live in a word surrounded by information about our health, our food and how we should be eating or living. It can be absolutely overwhelming and the truth is, that a lot of the information out there is utterly incorrect. Even if the information is accurate, it is unlikely to be relevant to everyone. We are all unique, as is our health, our backgrounds, our likes and dislikes, how our body metabolises foods, and this changes through our lives too – what worked brilliantly in our 20’s may not be what is needed a decade or two later.

True health requires more than a one-size-fits-all approach. It demands pausing, re-assessing, and investing in yourself. Spending time looking into root causes, rather than focusing on symptoms alone, is crucial for long term success.

This kind of in-depth research and planning takes a lot of time, and that’s where I come in. As a Nutritional Therapist with first-hand experience of hectic, health-draining careers and the juggle of work, studies, and family life, I know that fitting in sustainable change is tough.

Together, we’ll find and implement these changes in practical, manageable ways, creating a healthier, sustainable lifestyle that works for you.

What Can Nutritional Therapy Help With?

Many symptoms and conditions can be supported including (but not limited to):

My Approach at RLT Nutrition

My aim is to simplify the process for you by researching and creating practical solutions based on your full health history, lifestyle and environment.

Before our first consultation, you will complete a detailed health questionnaire and a 5-day food, drink and sleep diary, which form the basis of the first session. This 90-minute consultation is a relaxed conversation where we explore your health background, symptoms, goals, and obstacles. Using this information, I design a tailored plan, including dietary and lifestyle changes, recipe ideas, and supplements (if appropriate). For the time we spend in the initial session, I dedicate at least twice that time to research and ensure everything aligns with your needs, including checking for any negative interactions with medications.

Subsequent consultations allow us to track progress and introduce changes gradually. This step-by-step approach builds lasting habits, avoiding the overwhelm of a one-off plan.

The First Step is Quick and Easy!

I asked Ruth to help me explore some suspected food intolerances. She recommended a finger prick blood test that would identify potential intolerances and allergies. The test was easy and the results came back quickly, and Ruth then organised a call to go through the results. The report itself was thorough and contained a lot of detail, however Ruth first talked me through what the results actually meant and offered advice on what I might want to focus on. Ruth also followed up with me after a few weeks to see how I was getting on.

Ruth does not lecture or pressure you into making changes to your diet or lifestyle - she presents the information in a really useful way and you can then make an informed choice on what to do. What also stood out for me was that she understands that people have busy lives and so her advice is pragmatic and realistic rather than preachy. She has a passion for her subject, and I genuinely learnt a lot. It's led me to take a keener interest in my diet overall. Six months on from making some relatively big changes to my diet, I intend for this to be a long term adjustment. It's really been life changing. Thank you Ruth!

5 months ago I was at such a loss on how to improve my health. I am a busy mum to teenagers, and over the years, my own health has taken a back seat. I had so many symptoms, some that I didn't connect to until working through Ruth’s initial questionnaire.

Fast forward to today, and fatigue/low energy has vastly improved, interrupted sleep is a thing of the past, unpleasant digestive issues have gone, along with the pain and swelling to my legs and feet. PMS symptoms have greatly improved too.

Ruth has been non judgmental, professional and passionate in helping me to achieve a better balance in life. I have received regular checkins with Ruth and this has enabled her to provide me with an initial plan, that has been gently tweaked each month, enabling me to adapt and implement changes gradually.

For the first time in a long time, I feel empowered and positive that these changes are helping me to work towards the newer and improved me. Ruth’s hard work on my plans, has allowed me the headspace to trust the process and to start believing in myself again. Thank you so much Ruth!

For many years I suffered an intermittent skin condition, affecting my back and arms which I associated with stress. Prescibed ointments helped to alleviate the discomfort but did not address the underlying cause.

After a discussion with Ruth she recommended that I take an intolerance test. This flagged up a number of allergies and intolerances. Ruth then put together a dietary plan to address these issues as well as my general gut health.

Now, eighteen months later there has been no reoccurrence of the previous long term skin condition.
